Durrer Center aims to facilitate high-quality sample/data collection and storage. Providing a transparent mechanism for sample and data access will benefit the entire scientific community and society. Durrer Center will accelerate scientific progress by improving transparency of data-access procedures which will increase the accessibility of achieved samples. Durrer Center will upfront negotiate easy-access procedures with future collections to optimize its scientific potential. Furthermore, Durrer Center will facilitate collaborations in the research community by consolidating and expanding a stable organization by performing dedicated and high quality and durable biobanking and data-storage services. The main principle is that biomaterials and research data are Findable (F), Interoperable (I), Accessible (A) and Reusable (R).
